BOARD OF APPEALS (VEHICLES FOR HIRE)

PURPOSE
The purpose of the Board of Appeals (Vehicles for Hire) is to review appeals of denials, suspensions or revocations of a vehicle for hire business permit or vehicle for hire driver’s license pursuant to Chapter 114 of the City code.

MEMBERSHIP
Membership of the Board of Appeals (Vehicles for Hire) consists of the City Administrator, the Chief of Police, the Transit and Fleet Superintendent and two individuals from the community. The two individuals from the community shall be selected by the Mayor. The individuals from the community shall serve four year terms.
 
POWER AND DUTIES
(A)   Approve insignias, identifying designs, or monograms submitted by vehicle for hire business permit applicants for use on the company’s vehicles;
(B)   To hear appeals of denials, suspensions, or revocations of a vehicle for hire business permit or vehicle for hire driver’s license initiated pursuant to Chapter 114 of the City code; and
(C)   To make a final determination on issue appealed. Final written rulings on the issue appealed shall be made no later than 30 days after the conclusion of the appeal proceeding.
