The City of Clinton Solid Waste Department is responsible for the collection of the city-owned garbage, yard waste and recycling carts.

Hours of Operation:   7:00 am - 3:30 PM. 

Note:  All requests for new carts, cart replacements or repairs, or cancellation of collection services must now be made through the City's Finance Department -- 563-242-7545.

Upcoming Holiday Collection Delays:         

Thanksgiving- Thursday, Nov. 24th:

Thursday, Nov 24th- NO garbage/yard waste/recycling collections. 
Collections will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week.
Thursday's Routes- Will be collected on Friday, November 25th.
Friday's Routes- Will be collected on Saturday, November 26th.

The City of Clinton NO longer does Large Item Collections (furniture, mattresses, etc.).

                                                        Automated Collection Program Information

The City's schedule for it's collection carts are as follows:
                       Garbage - weekly
                       Yard Waste - weekly from the first week in April until the last week of November*
                       Recycle - every other week (A week or B week)
                                    *Dates are subject to change

Cart and Collection Information
The City of Clinton collects all items with designated carts.
Blue – Recycling          Gray – Garbage          Green – Yard Waste

 Please do not mix material in containers.
Containers with mixed material will not be collected.

Yard Waste Collection Start and End Times

The Solid Waste Department has set the following start and end times for yard waste collections for each upcoming calendar year as:

                         or with the first significant snowfall or prolonged temperatures below freezing
                              *As always, these dates are subject to the weather.
