FOOTBALL
Flag Football is a co-ed program offered for grades 1st through 4th. Participants are taught the fundamentals of punting, passing, running and receiving. Games are played at Emma Young Park softball fields. They are played Sunday afternoons, some week nights, and other days as scheduled from late September through October. Players will receive a T-shirt and flags are provided. Jewelry and metal or hard cleats will not be allowed.

Tackle Football is offered for grades 5th and 6th. Participants are taught the fundamentals of blocking, running and passing. Games are played, on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Thursday evenings after 5 pm, at Emma Young Park behind the Ericksen Center and River Kings & Queens Complex. Equipment fitting consists of helmets, pants, pads and jerseys. Mouth guards will be provided.
***NEW FOR 2018***
2018 Jr. Tackle Football Combine: This is for participants enrolled in the Clinton School District (Bluff, Eagle Heights, Jefferson, Whittier, Clinton Middle School, & Prince of Peace). This is only for new participants. In the second year, a player is automatically placed on the same team as the previous year, unless re-draft is requested.

Picture Schedules: April 20, 23, and 27                             

Spring and Fall Soccer are six-week programs designed to teach the fundamentals of soccer to participants ages 3 through 8th grade. Children will learn through practices, games and instruction by volunteer coaches. Games consist of smaller sided play to ensure more quality touches, to the ball, during games. Games are played on Saturdays from morning to early afternoon. Preschool co-ed teams (3, 4 and 5 year olds) play at Emma Young Park on Harding Field. K-8th grade teams play at Riverview Park. Upgrades are being made to Reynold P. Jurgensen Park (behind Home Depot) during the 2019 season.  Spring games are played mid-April through May. Fall games are played mid-September through October.

Co-Ed Summer Soccer is a program for high school boys and girls (players must have completed their freshman year by the start of league play), and adult college men and women.  Games are played, Monday and Wednesday evenings.  Leagues consist of five-verses-five with no goalie on a mid-sized field.

                                                                     

                                                BASKETBALL

Boys and Girls 1st and 2nd Grade Basketball is a six-week program held on Monday evenings. The season runs from February through the middle of March. Volunteer coaches will instruct players with the basic fundamentals of skills and drills. Fast-break play is allowed in the fourth quarter only, if the score is within 20 points. They will play on a 9' rim, full court 1/2 gym. Game officials and team shirts are provided.

Boys & Girls 1st & 2nd Grade Schedule
 
Boys and Girls 3rd and 4th Grade Basketball is a six-week program featuring league play on Saturday mornings. The season runs from February through the middle of March. Volunteer coaches will instruct players with fundamentals, skills and plays through practices. Boys and girls are allowed to fast-break and play is on 10' rim. Game officials and team shirts are provided.

GIRLS' SOFTBALL

Girls' Softball is a program geared toward obtaining player skill development through practice and league play for participants, grades 1 - 7.  Fillies are grades 1st and 2nd, Pintos are grades 3rd and 4th, Palominos are grades 5th thru 7th.  Playing rule modifications are based on National High School rules.  Fillies play Monday through Thursdays.  Pintos & Palominos Mondays through Fridays.
Visual Skill Evaluation (V.S.E): is a time when the coaches have a chance to review players’ relative skill and athletic ability.  Each player will 1) bat (4 pitches) from a pitching machine 2) run the bases to 2nd base, 3) field two ground balls thrown by a coach,  4) catch a pop fly, 5) throw each of the ground balls and pop fly to a player at 1st base and 6) pitch 5 pitches to a stationary target.  The coaches will then draft players based on the information gained through the V.S.E.  Players need to complete a “VSE” only once while involved in each level of play (‘Pinto’ & ‘Palomino’).  In the second year, a player is automatically placed on the same team as the previous year, unless a re-draft is requested.

GIRLS'  VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

Volleyball Schedule
Girls' Volleyball League is offered for those in 4th-6th grade. It is a six-week program featuring league play on Sunday afternoons.  The games run from  early November thru mid December with Thanksgiving weekend off.  Volunteer coaches will instruct players with the basic fundamentals of skills and drills through practices.

*Visual Skill Evaluation (V.S.E):  is  a  time  when  the  coaches  have  a  chance  to  review players’  relative  skill  and athletic ability.  Each player will 1) Serve 3 balls over the net from the serves line, 2) Pass 3 balls received from a coach, 3) Set three balls thrown by a coach to a stationary target, 4) Hit, will receive a pass from a coach and approach and hit the ball over the net.  The coaches will then draft players based on the information gained through the V.S.E.
